There is a technological reason why I have posted this photo of Gracie, our wonderful cat, besides the fact that we see real revenue potential in building up her fan club.
Rachel Kahan, a Spartan friend from D.C., tipped me off that the large format I’ve been using to post photographs doesn’t open on all platforms. So I’ve posted this at the next smallest size. Please let me know if you have any problems opening this or any other photos on this blog.
Also, Rachel has her own excellent cooking blog, linked here, called “I Can Boil Water: A Cooking Manual.” Please check it out.
And enjoy the Graciegram.

Bob, photo seems to be sizing properly. You blog really is coming along. Very easy to use, nice graphics, easy to navigate. Is this all your own work or are you using some sort of template?
Graice rules! (At lest in Chicago on Lake Shore Drive–except when you go a little further south and she comes up against the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Lion House.
When you’ve got a 30-story advantage, like Gracie does, you even rule the lions.
Thanks for the compliments, Frank. I’m using WordPress, which is so user-friendly (at least at this very basic template level) that I feel stupid for not starting a blog sooner. Once I get used to this, I’ll probably step it up a notch, because part of this exercise is so I learn more about Web production and design.
One of the reasons I was attracted to this particular template was that it is set up for a big header photo. I figured that having a photo of our view of the lake would make the blog’s name more self-explanatory. Though I am tardy with posting an “About this blog” page.
FYI… we got your package and love the mugs. Not that we didn’t already obey the kitty…
